Reading Hawks in Flight 2nd edition, I found that most Ospreys, except for some stragglers and Florida residents, are gone from the U.S. by the end of October. This one is flagged as late by eBird filters.
Upper surfaces of central tail feathers are noticably darker than outer ones. That's evident in all photos showing top side of tail.
I think this is a juvenile, based on remnant light tips to many of the feathers.
I'd post about it on BirdYak, but the BirdYak list owner, Denny Grandstand, now blocks my posts due to my efforts to discourage trespassing by listers such as him. Meanwhile, he has posted on BirdYak about birds he (says he) has seen while trespassing. That's unethical, the trespassing is illegal, and listing birds with ABA seen while trespassing is a violation of the ABA Code of Birding Ethics. Go Denny, Go. It's surely not ethics that most strongly influences his choice to block me posting on BirdYak. If it were, he'd block himself. I suggest he do so.
